The affordable Care Act has stipulated a shorter time frame for people to enroll in health coverage for 2018. This time frame is November 1, 2017, to December 15, 2017, which is called an open enrollment period. If you apply for coverage during this time, your plan will be effective January 1, 2018, and will be compliant. After these dates, there is what is called a “transitional enrollment” from December 16, 2017, through January 12, 2018, this will allow your coverage to be effective February 1, 2018.
It is quite a maze to get through the entire process on your own, especially with the new orders from the government. Anyone who has an Individual policy with Colorado Choice Health Plans will not automatically be renewed, as that company is changing to Friday Health Plans. This is the time for you to “bow out” and have an expert do all the work for you. The cost is the same whether Core Financial does the work or you try to do it yourself!
